If you are a courier driver you will definitely be acutely aware that there are certain times of the year when you are likely to be particularly busy such as over the Christmas period. It will not come as a surprise to read that another popular time of the year for presents is leading up to Valentines Day and also the date itself that always falls on the 14th February.
It is an occasion when lovers show their feelings for one another in a number of ways including the exchanging of presents. This is why a large number of courier drivers are likely to see an increase in the number of parcels they are delivering to men and women here in the UK.
It is possible that you will see the number of parcels that you are delivering on a daily basis start increasing progressively from say the beginning of February 2026 to the 14TH February 2026. It is important that you are prepared for such an increase in your workload.
Make sure that you get a good night’s sleep before starting your daily deliveries as you may be on the road for longer than normal. Get a good breakfast inside you and make sure that you carry fluids in your vehicle to drink when safe to do so. Also make sure that you eat during the day and try to take breaks. Is you vehicle in good working order i.e. has it been serviced recently as you do not want to break down s this could result in you loosing much needed income. Keep your vehicle regularly topped up with fuel as you would not wish to run out of petrol or diesel part the way through the day.
Although you will be busy, drive with due care and attention. The repercussions of being involved in a road traffic accident do not really bear thinking about at a busy time of the year. You could end up having to take your vehicle off the road thus loosing much needed income.
Whilst you will be keen to complete your deliveries as quickly as possible, do be courteous to those people you are delivering to if they answer the door. You know what they say – “first impressions count”. Also be very careful where you leave a parcel if nobody is in to take delivery – follow the instructions you may have been given.
We do hope that you courier service business has a successful period leading up to Valentines Day.
