Some of you will shop at Waitrose that has 320 stores around the UK. You may be interested to read that when the World Cup football matches took place there were 50 stores that extended the hours that it delivered certain items to people.

The well-known seller of groceries and other things decided to deliver certain items in as little as 20 minutes in some cases to customers in various parts of the UK. For instance, if you decided that you required the likes of a pizza or certain other snack to enjoy whilst watching the football you were potentially able to do so depending upon where you lived in the UK.

Apparently, whilst England played their first football match in this year’s World Cup, Waitrose saw a 17% rise in orders – a significant increase.

The quick service deliveries are made by Uber Eats, Just East and Deliveroo and we believe that need to use one of the aforementioned businesses apps.

As a result of the successful trial, Waitrose has decided to offer the service permanently in 35 stores with people being able to have their orders met up to midnight but in a select number of stores that warrant it 24 hours a day. This really does sound great news for people who love to shop at Waitrose. Obviously, it is only certain items that can be delivered within 20 minutes but many people will welcome the prospect of being able to have the likes of certain ready meals or toiletries delivered to their homes.

Who knows, if you are a courier, there may come a time when you can pick up this sort of business if it becomes available from some other supermarkets. In the current economic climate, any extra business that becomes available will probably be snapped up by a number of courier drivers. It could become a second source of income assuming you have the energy especially if you have been out delivering during the day.
